John Carrizales dies in fatal motorcycle crash on I-35 in South Austin

Fatal South Austin motorcycle crash claims the life of John Carrizales – Obituary

John Carrizales, a 51-year-old man from Austin, was killed in a motorcycle crash on the morning of Saturday, April 26, 2025, during the annual Ride for the Fallen event.

The crash occurred near the Slaughter Creek Overpass on Interstate 35 around 10:44 a.m. Despite efforts by Austin-Travis County EMS medics to perform CPR, Carrizales was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other motorcyclist involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The incident is now part of Austin’s 27th fatal crash of 2025.
