Jonas Robert Nedd Sutton dies in fatal Calgary stabbing

Fatal Calgary stabbing death of Jonas Robert Nedd Sutton – Obituary

Jonas Robert Nedd Sutton, a 21-year-old man, tragically lost his life in a violent altercation outside the Commonwealth Bar & Stage in downtown Calgary early Saturday morning. Sutton, described by family and friends as a “happy soul” and a “tough and resilient” individual, was stabbed just before 2 a.m. on April 26.

Police were called to the scene after reports of a large brawl in the parking lot in the 700 block of 10 Avenue S.W. Upon arrival, they discovered three people with injuries. Sutton was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. A second individual was treated for stable injuries, while the third person was released after receiving medical care.

A GoFundMe campaign launched in Sutton’s memory describes him as someone who always had a smile on his face and brought joy to those around him.

Four individuals have been taken into custody by the police, who believe multiple people witnessed the incident and may have recorded the altercation on their phones.

Investigators are urging anyone with information or footage to come forward to aid in identifying everyone involved in the fight. An autopsy for Sutton is scheduled for Tuesday, and police are continuing their investigation.
