Fatal Millcreek Township house fire death of Judy Jackson – Obituary

Investigators are still working to determine what sparked the Easter Sunday blaze that claimed the life of 79-year-old Judy Jackson in Millcreek Township, Pennsylvania.

Judy Jackson, a resident of 4458 S. Park Lane, was identified as the victim by Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook. Emergency responders were called to the scene around 1:50 p.m. on April 20, where Jackson was pronounced dead just over an hour later at 3:07 p.m.

The fire engulfed the single-story modular home and eventually extended to a neighboring property, which also sustained heavy damage. The Millcreek Township Fire Department, supported by three local volunteer departments, responded to the fire.

One firefighter received minor burns but was treated and released at the scene.

This incident marks the fifth fire-related death in Millcreek Township this year. Of the previous three deadly fires, two remain unexplained, while one has been linked to careless smoking.
