A man from Northeast Washington, D.C., has been identified as the victim of a double shooting that occurred on Sunday night, April 27.

Kevin Edwards, 28, was found inside a vehicle in the 100 block of 54th Street, SE, around 10:15 p.m. with gunshot wounds.

Edwards was rushed to the hospital where medical staff made efforts to save his life, but he later succumbed to his injuries. A woman, also injured in the incident, was grazed by a bullet but survived.

Police determined that the shooting occurred about eight minutes away in the 4400 block of Foote Street, NE. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of Monday night. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
