Meggan Meredith, 45, has been identified as the woman found dead near a bike path in Springfield on Tuesday, April 22.

Springfield police discovered Meredith unresponsive at the 1500 block of Hall of Fame Avenue. She was declared dead shortly after being found. Authorities are treating her death as a homicide.

The Hampden District Attorney’s Office confirmed her identity, and the Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit is collaborating with the DA’s Murder Unit on the investigation. Following the discovery, Hampden County DA Anthony Gulluni reassured the public, stating that the incident was isolated. He emphasized the ongoing thorough investigation and extended his condolences to the grieving families.
