Fatal Bexar County crash death of Patricia Browning – Obituary

A deadly crash occurred on a West Bexar County street after a man allegedly drove at 108 miles per hour, resulting in the tragic death of 71-year-old Patricia Browning.

The incident took place on April 23 at an intersection between Alamo Parkway and Lone Star Parkway along Alamo Ranch Parkway.

Bexar County Sheriff’s investigators have arrested 20-year-old Richard Aron Gonzales in connection with the crash. He was reportedly driving at high speed when he collided with Browning’s SUV, causing it to flip multiple times.

Witness Josh Mendez, who works nearby, recalled the speed of the crash, describing how Browning couldn’t have seen the car coming.

He emphasized that speeding in this area has been a consistent issue, with many near-misses in the past. Residents like Joseph Buffington attribute the traffic issues to a mix of reckless driving and poor road design.

Despite calls for action, including additional traffic lights or stop signs, the area continues to see dangerous driving behavior. Authorities are investigating the incident and incorporating it into an ongoing traffic study.
