Fatal Tippecanoe County car crash death of Savannah Mason – Obituary
Savannah Mason, a 23-year-old resident of Lafayette, lost her life following a collision involving Purdue University’s mascot vehicle, the Boilermaker Special, on Thursday. The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office confirmed her identity after an autopsy conducted Monday.
According to previous reports, the crash took place near the intersection of U.S. Highway 52 South and Wyandotte Road when the Boilermaker Special experienced a tire failure and veered into oncoming traffic, striking Mason’s vehicle.
Savannah Mason, who was driving the other car, died at the scene from her injuries.
Her LinkedIn profile indicates she worked as an Assistant Manager at the children’s clothing store Carter’s. She was also a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College, earning an associate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
