Fatal Charleston U-Haul crash death of Shinique Toussaint-Allah – Obituary

Shinique Toussaint-Allah, 42, of Charleston, was tragically killed after being struck by a U-Haul truck during a crash on Meeting Street on Saturday, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office. Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal reported that she died at the scene from blunt force trauma.

Toussaint-Allah had been riding as a passenger on a motorcycle when the accident occurred.

The crash also left seven other people injured, including the driver of the motorcycle.

The incident began when North Charleston Police attempted a traffic stop on the U-Haul truck at the intersection of Dorchester and Meeting Street Roads. The driver, identified as Brown, refused to stop and fled toward downtown Charleston. Although police ended their pursuit near Columbus and King Streets, Brown continued driving.

The U-Haul later crashed on Meeting Street near Reid Street, striking two pedestrians and a Mercedes-Benz. The Mercedes then collided with the motorcycle carrying Toussaint-Allah, causing the motorcycle to subsequently crash into a Chevrolet Tahoe.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently handling the investigation into the fatal accident.
