Fatal Darke County motorcycle crash death of Steven Copenhaver – Obituary

A tragic motorcycle crash in Darke County claimed the life of Steven Copenhaver, 52, of Brookville. The collision occurred at the intersection of State Route 49 and Hollansburg-Sampson Road in Arcanum on the evening of April 28, 2025.

Authorities reported that the driver of a GMC Terrain failed to yield the right of way to Copenhaver, who was riding a Kawasaki Ninja. The Terrain, stopped at a sign on Hollansburg-Sampson Road, attempted to cross onto State Route 49 as the motorcycle was approaching.

Copenhaver was ejected from his bike and tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the authorities.
