Fatal Littlerock Road car crash death of Dawn Cooper – Obituary
Dawn Cooper, a 52-year-old resident of Rochester, has been confirmed as the woman who died in a solo car crash on Littlerock Road in Thurston County on April 24. According to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection with 123rd Avenue Southwest.
Authorities reported that Cooper was driving at a high rate of speed when her vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree. After the crash, she managed to exit the car on her own but tragically died nearby. Her body was found partially lying in a stream, though it was not submerged, according to Coroner Gary Warnock.
The cause of death was not immediately determined, as the coroner’s examination took place several days after the crash, on Tuesday.
Emergency crews from the West Thurston Fire Department responded to the scene alongside sheriff’s deputies, but Cooper had already succumbed to her injuries. The crash remains under investigation as the community mourns the sudden loss.
