Fatal Genesee County motorcycle crash death of Duane L. Girdner – Obituary

A tragic crash occurred on Monday in Genesee County, leading to the death of 65-year-old Duane L. Girdner, a motorcyclist from Rochester. The incident took place around 6:45 p.m. near Route 19 and the on-ramp to Interstate 490 in Le Roy.

Authorities reported that a 25-year-old woman from Livonia, driving southbound on Route 19, failed to stop at a stop sign and turned in front of Girdner, who was traveling northbound.

Girdner collided with the rear passenger side door of the woman’s car, causing him to be ejected and thrown into the side of the vehicle.

He became pinned under his motorcycle, and bystanders, along with emergency responders, worked to free him.

Despite efforts to save him, Girdner was pronounced dead at the scene. The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
