Fatal Apple Valley car crash death of Marcos Lopez – Obituary

A devastating single-vehicle accident in Apple Valley claimed the life of 16-year-old Marcos Lopez earlier this month.

The teenager, a resident of Victorville, was killed along with 32-year-old driver Jimmy Terriquez when their black Dodge Charger collided with an Edison utility pole just after midnight on April 9, 2025.

Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department had been attempting to locate a reckless driver on Central Road, south of Walpi Road, when they later discovered the crash site. Both Lopez and Terriquez were pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the tragedy, Marcos’s mother, Jessica Olmeda, launched a GoFundMe campaign titled “Support Marcos Lopez’s Funeral Costs” to help raise funds for his burial.

In her plea, she described the overwhelming grief her family is enduring and the financial strain of planning a memorial. She expressed heartfelt gratitude for any contributions, no matter the size, to help give Marcos a respectful farewell.

As investigators continue examining the incident’s circumstances, Jessica’s focus remains on honoring her son’s memory and seeking community support during this deeply painful time.
