Micah Napper, 4, lost his life in a tragic car accident when the vehicle he was in overturned in a creek near Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on April 28, authorities confirmed.
According to the Forrest County Sheriff’s Office and the North Forrest Volunteer Fire Department, Micah was traveling with his 10-year-old and 16-year-old brothers when their car veered off the road, crashed into a creek, and landed upside down. Emergency responders were alerted to the wreck around 5:30 p.m., where they found two of the three children had managed to exit the car. Micah, however, was still trapped inside and was declared dead at the scene.
Officials identified the deceased as Micah Napper, a young boy remembered fondly by his family for his boundless energy, love of T-Ball, and infectious laughter. A GoFundMe and obituary described him as a spirited child who loved wrestling with his dad and brothers, leaving lasting memories with all who knew him.
The older siblings were both seriously injured. The 16-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital, while the 10-year-old was airlifted to a facility in Jackson for surgery. Family members later shared that both had made it through surgery but emphasized that the road to recovery would be long.
Micah’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday, May 3. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
