Fatal Palermo homicide death of Robert Bruso – Obituary

Maine State Police have identified 56-year-old Robert Bruso as the victim in a homicide investigation following his death outside his home in Palermo.

Bruso’s body was discovered on the morning of April 19 at his residence on Boots and Saddle Road.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Unit deemed the circumstances around his death suspicious, prompting a full autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.

Authorities have since confirmed his death was a homicide but have not disclosed the exact cause at this time.

Bruso’s golden retriever, Lenny, has also been reported missing, and police are urging anyone who may have seen the dog—especially in the area of Route 3 near Boots and Saddle Road or Level Hill Road—to contact the Augusta Regional Communication Center.

Law enforcement has stated there is no known threat to the public as the investigation continues.
