Fatal Springdale shooting death of Willie Tillman – Obituary

Willie Tillman, a 19-year-old from Marianna, lost his life in a shooting incident on Tuesday afternoon in Springdale, Arkansas, according to a statement from local authorities. The fatal event took place around 2:48 p.m. at a residence on Wayland Avenue.

Investigators revealed that Ashton Balentine Jr. entered the home through an unlocked front entrance and went directly to a bedroom where his ex-girlfriend was located. He reportedly opened fire using a Glock 17 that had been illegally modified with a device known as a “Glock Switch,” which enables the weapon to fire automatically.

Court documents suggest Balentine targeted the individuals after finding out that his former partner was involved with a new boyfriend. Tillman and the woman were both shot during the encounter. A child, believed to be the woman’s, was in a nearby crib at the time of the shooting.

Balentine was taken into custody and is now facing multiple charges, including Capital Murder, Attempted Capital Murder, and Burglary.
