Fatal northwest Atlanta shooting death of Angela Yajahira Cortes Villegas – Obituary

Authorities in Atlanta have confirmed the identity of the woman found shot to death near a cemetery in the northwest part of the city on Easter Sunday as 20-year-old Angela Yajahira Cortes Villegas from Utah.

Police reported that Villegas was discovered in an unresponsive state within a wooded area close to Crest Lawn Memorial Park. She had sustained multiple gunshot injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Before officials were able to determine her identity, the Atlanta Police Department shared images of distinctive tattoos on her body, including one of an eye on her right wrist, in hopes the public could assist in identifying her.

Investigators believe her death is a homicide, and a $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to more answers in the case. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue working to uncover who is responsible.
