Fatal Springfield shooting death of Camren White – Obituary

Camren White, a 19-year-old from Stonington, was fatally shot early Monday morning in Springfield. According to the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office, multiple 911 calls reported gunfire and a disturbance around 1:04 a.m. on the 800 block of West Lenox Street.

Deputies and emergency responders arrived at the scene and discovered White suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:45 a.m.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and seeking assistance from the public. Detectives are urging anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers.

Residents in the area are also being asked to review any surveillance footage captured between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Monday for signs of suspicious individuals or activity. Additional updates will be provided as the case develops.
