Eileen Sanders dies in fatal Prague drowning

Fatal Prague drowning death of Eileen Sanders – Obituary

An 86-year-old woman, Eileen Sanders of Prague, Oklahoma, lost her life Wednesday afternoon after her car was overtaken by floodwaters, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. as Sanders was driving west on E 1020 Road near 3515 Road, approximately 13 miles northeast of Meeker. Her vehicle entered a flooded portion of the road and was carried off to the right by strong currents.

Sanders and a passenger were able to exit the vehicle, but she was swept away and submerged, failing to resurface. The passenger was successfully rescued by the Prague Fire Department.

Officials are continuing to monitor dangerous flood conditions in the area as storms persist.
