Fatal Minneapolis shooting death of Lamont Agnew Jr. – Obituary

Lamont Agnew Jr., 33, was tragically shot and killed in south Minneapolis on Sunday evening. Authorities confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight on Monday at Hennepin County Medical Center.

 

Police were called to the scene near Clinton Avenue South and East 29th Street after emergency workers discovered Agnew lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. No arrests have been made, and authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the shooting.

 

Records indicate that Agnew had recently been residing in Minneapolis. Police Chief Brian O’Hara is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward, emphasizing that even the smallest detail could help investigators piece together what happened.

 

As of now, there have been 14 homicides in Minneapolis this year, which is slightly fewer than the 19 at the same time in 2024.
