Leon Anderson dies in fatal Mitcham stabbing
Fatal Mitcham stabbing death of Leon Anderson – Obituary
Leon Anderson, aged 39, tragically lost his life after being stabbed in his home in Mitcham on the evening of Monday, April 28. Emergency services responded to a call about an incident on Maple Close around 7:30pm. When officers from the Met Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service arrived, they discovered Anderson suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities arrested a suspect who turned himself in at a South London police station the following day, Tuesday, April 29. The man, identified as 24-year-old Kemuel Gambicky-Forbes from Deer Park Gardens in Mitcham, has since been charged with murder and possession of a bladed weapon. He was scheduled to appear in court at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 1.
Leon Anderson’s family is receiving assistance from specialist officers as they navigate the shock and grief of his sudden death.
