Norman Higgins dies in fatal Spartanburg shooting

Fatal Spartanburg shooting death of Norman Higgins – Obituary

Norman Higgins, 45, passed away after being shot twice at the JC Bull Apartments in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Police responded to a shooting call around 3:20 p.m. at 101 Marion Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Higgins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

 

The search for the suspect prompted precautionary lockdowns at nearby schools, which were later lifted without incident. Authorities soon located and arrested 39-year-old Travis Lee Wilkins. A firearm was discovered in his possession at the time of his arrest.

 

Wilkins now faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is currently held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
