Authorities are investigating the death of 33-year-old Durand Clark Pottinger, who was discovered deceased early Wednesday morning in the Old North Sacramento neighborhood. Sacramento police officers were called around 8:18 a.m. to the 700 block of Dixieanne Avenue following reports of an unresponsive man lying on the ground.

When they arrived, officers found Pottinger’s body. According to KCRA 3 reporter Cecil Hannibal, multiple bullet casings were visible at the scene, indicating gunfire.

This incident marks the 13th homicide within Sacramento city limits so far this year, based on the latest data released by law enforcement. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding Pottinger’s death.
