Fatal Island Park crash death of Isaiah Moreno – Obituary
Isaiah Moreno, a 25-year-old man from Humble, Texas, has been identified as the driver who lost his life in a devastating vehicle collision Thursday evening in Island Park, Idaho. The Idaho State Police confirmed his death following the fiery wreck on U.S. Highway 20 near Henrys Lake.
Moreno had been driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck heading westbound when it collided with a Mercedes van traveling in the opposite direction toward Yellowstone National Park. Both vehicles caught fire following the crash.
Seven people, including six foreign nationals riding in the van and Moreno himself, died as a result of the collision. Multiple others were injured; three were airlifted to hospitals in Bozeman and Idaho Falls, while the rest were taken by ambulance to nearby medical facilities. Most survivors reportedly sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
A Fremont County Sheriff’s deputy and several bystanders responded quickly, assisting injured passengers before flames engulfed the van. Witnesses described the scene as chaotic and tragic, with one woman appearing to be in shock as people worked to keep her safe until emergency crews arrived.
The Idaho State Police noted that the identification of all individuals involved may take some time due to the nature of the crash. More details will be released as next of kin are notified and investigations continue.
