Fatal Moline traffic crash death of Marian Murphy – Obituary

Authorities in Moline have identified the woman killed in a pedestrian crash Thursday night as 61-year-old Marian Murphy.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian around 8:56 p.m. near the intersection of 16th Street and 25th Avenue. A preliminary investigation showed that a 33-year-old woman driving northbound hit Murphy while she was walking in the roadway.

Emergency services transported Murphy to a nearby hospital, where she later passed away from her injuries.

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. At this point, no charges or citations have been issued.
