Fatal East Price Hill shooting death of Ryan Hinton – Obituary

Eighteen-year-old Ryan Hinton has been identified as the teen fatally shot by police during an investigation into a stolen vehicle in East Price Hill on Thursday.

Authorities said the deadly encounter occurred in just six seconds after officers located a stolen Kia SUV in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Warsaw Avenue, using GPS data from the vehicle.

 

When officers approached, four individuals inside the SUV attempted to flee on foot. One officer chased a suspect later identified as Ryan Hinton, while another pursued a different individual.

During the pursuit, Hinton reportedly pointed a semiautomatic handgun with an extended magazine at the officer. In response, the officer fired, striking Hinton.

 

Despite immediate efforts to save his life, Hinton died at the scene, according to Cincinnati Police Chief Theetge. Two additional suspects, 18-year-old Jurell Austin and 19-year-old Deanthony Bullocks, were apprehended following an extended chase. Both face charges of obstructing official business and receiving stolen property.

 

A fourth suspect remains at large, and no description has been provided yet. Cincinnati officials have emphasized the seriousness of the incident, and an investigation into the shooting is underway.
