Tondi Tripp, a 62-year-old resident of Okemos, Michigan, lost her life in a tragic collision on Wednesday involving a bus and a semi-truck along Interstate 96 in Ingham County. Authorities from the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office confirmed her identity following the deadly incident.

The crash occurred near mile marker 113, where the small Transdev-operated shuttle bus driven by Tripp rear-ended a semi-truck. The impact caused the bus to ignite, resulting in significant traffic disruptions and emergency response activity.

Tripp was operating the vehicle under contract with the Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) at the time of the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the investigation remains active as law enforcement seeks additional information.
