Fatal Toronto shooting death of Jeremy McNeil – Obituary
Jeremy McNeil, a 20-year-old resident of Toronto, died after being shot in a targeted attack in the city’s Riverdale neighborhood on April 15. The shooting occurred shortly before 11 p.m. near Bain and Logan avenues, where police responded to reports of multiple gunshots.
When officers arrived, they found McNeil and 18-year-old Quentin Caza both suffering from gunshot wounds. Caza was declared dead at the scene, while McNeil was rushed to the hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
Investigators at the time believed the concentrated pattern of gunfire suggested a deliberate and targeted shooting. On May 4, police announced the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect, who has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection to the killings.
The young suspect appeared in court via video at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre following the arrest. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and seek justice for both victims.
