Fatal I-70 pedestrian crash death of Edward Williams – Obituary

Edward Williams, 70, of Bridgeport, lost his life early Sunday morning after being struck by a semi-truck on Interstate 70.

Authorities from the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a call at 3:26 a.m. about a person seen running into traffic along the interstate. As troopers were en route, they received an update that a semi-truck had hit a pedestrian near mile marker 224.

Officials later confirmed the identity of the deceased as Edward Williams. The driver of the truck is not facing any charges at this time, and the crash is still under investigation. Law enforcement noted that Williams may have intentionally entered the roadway.
