Fatal Denham Springs hit-and-run death of Jody Mann – Obituary

Funeral arrangements have been announced for 20-year-old Jody Mann, who tragically passed away on April 16 after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident on March 29 in Denham Springs. Mann was walking along the street when she was hit, and despite being hospitalized, she succumbed to her injuries.

The driver, identified as Brandon Chenevert, was arrested following the incident on charges of felony hit-and-run, negligent injuring, and obstruction of justice. After Mann’s death, Chenevert was rebooked on charges of negligent homicide.

Mann’s family has scheduled her visitation for May 24 at Central Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the funeral service. In her obituary, her family highlighted her selflessness, including her final act of love as an organ donor, which contributed to saving lives. They also requested that funeral attendees wear casual clothes, as Mann disliked dressing up. A butterfly release will follow the service. The family continues to raise funds through a GoFundMe campaign.
