Fatal Lake City drowning death of Journee Davis – Obituary

Journee Davis, a 23-month-old toddler, tragically passed away after drowning in an above-ground pool at her home in Lake City, South Carolina.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday night. According to Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken, Journee was taken to MUSC Health Black River Medical Center’s emergency room, where she was pronounced dead.

Family members told officials that the child wandered off while they were saying goodbye to guests following a family gathering. Emergency responders, including Lake City police and deputies, rushed to assist but were unable to save her.
