Fatal Fresno DUI crash death of Maddux Greene and Jordan Galvez – Obituary

Maddux Greene, 18, and Jordan Galvez, 19, both of Fresno, tragically lost their lives in a fiery crash late Friday night. The Fresno County Coroner’s Office confirmed their identities on Monday.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Clovis and Shields avenues. The Fresno Police Department responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision, one of which was engulfed in flames. Officers arrived to find a Ford Focus on fire, with Good Samaritans attempting to assist by pulling out one of the passengers, who was in pain but survived. The Fresno Fire Department extinguished the blaze and discovered two victims inside the vehicle.

Greene, the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene, while Galvez died the following morning at the hospital.

The crash also involved a Land Rover, whose occupants fled the scene. However, police later apprehended two men matching witness descriptions. One of them, 28-year-old Jagat Singh, was identified as the driver. Singh, who has a history of DUI convictions, was arrested on suspicion of murder and hit-and-run.

Authorities say the crash happened when the Land Rover ran a red light and collided with the rear passenger side of the Ford, causing the car to spin and catch fire. A local store employee attempted to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher.

Both Greene and Galvez were recent graduates of Clovis East High School in 2024. A vigil was held in their honor on Sunday, and a GoFundMe campaign was started by Galvez’s father.
