The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that 17-year-old Marques Yarbrough was the second teenager to lose his life after a shooting in Stockton on April 9.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Lafayette and South San Joaquin streets shortly after 10 p.m. that night following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police located two teenage boys, both 17, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital. One, Isaic Aromin-Quintoa, died that same evening. Yarbrough was initially listed in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries five days later.
As of now, no suspects have been identified or taken into custody, and police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting.
