Fatal Cobb County shooting death of Micah Bender – Obituary

Micah Bender, a 21-year-old resident of Lithia Springs, was fatally shot Friday evening at the Westminster Square Apartments on Windy Hill Road in Marietta, according to Cobb County police.

Officers responded to the apartment complex around 7:15 p.m. following reports of a person being shot. When they arrived, they discovered Bender with gunshot injuries. He was transported to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities have arrested 24-year-old Samir Bennett of Marietta in connection to the shooting. Bennett faces multiple charges including felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is currently being held at the Cobb County Jail.
