Fatal Harrisburg shooting death of Omar Wilson Jr. – Obituary
Harrisburg police have apprehended 22-year-old Teriq Coleman in connection with the April 14 shooting death of 26-year-old Omar Wilson Jr. The deadly incident occurred near the intersection of North 4th and Muench streets, where Wilson was fatally shot.
Coleman has been charged with murder and several other offenses. Authorities are continuing their search for a second suspect, 23-year-old Aaron Hurtt, who is also facing murder charges. Police urge anyone with information on Hurtt’s whereabouts to contact them at 717-558-6900 or submit a tip online.
Details from a criminal complaint reveal that a witness saw two groups preparing to fight, armed with items like bats and cans in socks. The witness described one man, later identified as Hurtt, sitting on a porch making hand gestures and signals, including a neck-slashing motion, as though communicating with someone nearby.
When Wilson reached the corner, both Hurtt and Coleman allegedly sprang up and ran toward him while firing their weapons. The witness recounted that after Wilson collapsed, Hurtt stood over him and emptied the remainder of his firearm into the victim.
The investigation is ongoing.
