Fatal Northaven shooting death of Scharles Brown – Obituary

Scharles Brown, 41, has died several days after he was found shot multiple times outside a residence in Northaven, Tennessee, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were dispatched to a home on Diamond Cove on the afternoon of April 20, where they discovered Brown at the end of a driveway, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported in critical condition to Regional One Health but succumbed to his injuries on April 30, 2025.

Authorities have identified 30-year-old Altonious Scott as the alleged shooter. Investigators believe the incident resulted from a dispute involving Scott, Brown, and an unidentified third person.

Scott remained at the scene following the shooting and was initially charged with attempted first-degree murder. With Brown’s passing, the case is now classified as a homicide, and updated charges for Scott have not yet been disclosed.
