Trever Staten dies in fatal Hanover workplace fall

Fatal Hanover workplace fall death of Trever Staten – Obituary

Trever Staten, a 34-year-old man from Harrisburg, lost his life after plunging more than 30 feet from the roof of the Utz potato chip facility located on High Street in Hanover, York County.

 

Officials reported that Staten, who was working as a subcontractor, was part of a team assembling scaffolding on the factory roof when the accident happened. According to the coroner, he fell through a skylight and landed on the loading dock below.

 

He was taken to UPMC Hanover Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The coroner confirmed that his death resulted from blunt force injuries sustained in the fall and classified the incident as accidental.

 

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) along with the Hanover Borough police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall.
