The community of Stilson in Bulloch County is mourning the loss of Wendi Davis, 55, who tragically died alongside her husband and two daughters in a house fire early Wednesday morning.

Wendi, her husband Russell Davis, 56, and their daughters Susannah, 19, and Haley, 17, were discovered deceased inside their Stilson Road home after flames were spotted coming from the house by a passing volunteer firefighter.

Ted Wynn, Public Safety Director for Bulloch County, reported that the firefighter was on his way to work when he noticed the blaze and raised the alarm. Emergency services, including deputies and volunteers from several local fire departments, responded to the call around 4:54 a.m., according to Sheriff Lynn Anderson.

When firefighters entered the home, they found all four family members had succumbed to the fire. Wendi Davis, remembered as a devoted wife and mother, was part of a family deeply rooted in the community. The tragic loss has left neighbors and friends grieving as they come to terms with the heartbreaking event.
