Fatal LeClaire train crash death of Kenneth L. Puck – Obituary

An 84-year-old man from Davenport, Kenneth L. Puck, lost his life after his vehicle collided with a train in LeClaire on Tuesday morning.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred just before 9 a.m. near the Green Gables Marina. Puck was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram Promaster southbound on Canal Shore Drive Southwest when his van was struck by a westbound train at a rail crossing.

Authorities say Puck was the only person in the vehicle at the time and died on the scene due to his injuries.

The crossing where the crash happened is marked with stop signs but lacks automated crossing arms.

The incident is still under active investigation by local authorities.
