Fatal Fitchburg stabbing death of Myron D. Dunlap – Obituary

Authorities in Fitchburg have confirmed that 39-year-old Myron D. Dunlap died following a stabbing incident that occurred Tuesday morning at Monkeyshines Bar and Grill, located on McKee Road. Dunlap was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy the following day, although the exact cause and manner of death remain undetermined pending further tests. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A suspect, identified as Rodney Golden, was taken into custody later that day in Sun Prairie. Authorities discovered a rifle and approximately 500 grams of fentanyl at the residence where Golden was arrested. He is currently being held at the Dane County Jail on a parole violation, with additional charges expected to be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office.

Investigators believe the stabbing resulted from a confrontation between Golden and Dunlap at the bar.
