Authorities stated that officers initially responded to the 3500 block of Brehms Lane, where they discovered a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg. A short time later, police stopped a vehicle near Mannasota and Brendan avenues and found Lewis inside, critically injured by gunfire. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators noted he was not driving the vehicle.

Three individuals have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the killing. The suspects are identified as Rodsheead Alexander, 34; Zion Wimbish, 19; and Ra’Shawn Smith, 19. One of the suspects, Wimbish, was the man previously found shot in the leg.
