Juan Domingo Rodriguez Patino dies in fatal Shafter, California car crash

Fatal Shafter, California crash death of Juan Domingo Rodriguez Patino – Obituary.

Authorities have identified Juan Domingo Rodriguez Patino, 30, from Wasco, as the victim in a tragic accident on Highway 43. The incident occurred on May 7, 2025, around 6:32 p.m., when a two-vehicle collision was reported south of Dresser Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), an initial investigation revealed that Patino was driving a 2019 GMC Yukon at speeds exceeding 80 mph when the crash took place. The Yukon veered off the road and collided with a parked 2005 GMC Sierra, which was stationed on the east shoulder of the highway.

Patino’s vehicle struck the truck’s left side, causing the SUV to lose control and roll several times before coming to a stop on private property. The impact ejected Patino from the vehicle, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, who was the only occupant, complained of pain but remained unharmed and stayed at the crash site.

CHP has indicated that alcohol may have contributed to the incident.
