Fatal Thompson, North Dakota crash death of Judy Rusten – Obituary

Judy Rusten, an 83-year-old woman from Aneta, was killed in a tragic two-vehicle crash on Interstate 29, just north of Thompson, North Dakota, on Monday afternoon.

According to the North Dakota State Patrol, Rusten was driving her SUV southbound in the northbound lanes of I-29 when she collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Joshua Bedard of Grand Forks.

Bedard suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported to Altru Hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that Rusten was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, which contributed to the severity of the outcome.

The crash led to the temporary closure of the northbound lanes for approximately two hours as law enforcement conducted their investigation.
