A 30-year-old man was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer early Thursday morning, May 8, in the Town of Bethel. The incident took place around 5:45 a.m. on Route 17B, near Happy Avenue.

According to the New York State Police, troopers from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene after receiving reports of a pedestrian accident. Preliminary investigations reveal that a 2022 International Harvester tractor-trailer, driven by 64-year-old Anthony Lee Tyson of Waterbury, Connecticut, was traveling west when it hit Brett Stevens, who was walking along the roadway.
