Fatal Houston nightclub shooting death of Deon Robinson – Obituary
A violent confrontation outside a nightclub on Westheimer Road in Houston turned deadly when 23-year-old Deon Robinson was fatally shot during an early morning altercation on January 19.
According to Houston police, the incident took place around 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a club located at 8811 Westheimer Road. Investigators say a dispute between two groups of men quickly escalated, leading to gunfire that killed Robinson at the scene.
Another man, identified as 22-year-old Daqualaun Chandler, was also struck by bullets. He attempted to flee in a vehicle but soon crashed nearby. He was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities have since charged Chandler with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon as well as driving while intoxicated.
Detectives are still working to identify two suspects seen fleeing the scene in surveillance footage. Both are described as Black men in their twenties. Law enforcement is asking anyone with information about the shooting or the individuals involved to contact the Houston Police Department Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
