Fatal Charlotte shooting death of Oahquell Villegas – Obituary

A man identified as Oahquell Villegas lost his life early Thursday morning following a shooting incident on West Sugar Creek Road near Interstate 85 in north Charlotte.

Police say the shooting occurred around 5:25 a.m. Villegas was rushed to Atrium Health CMC Main, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Authorities have arrested 44-year-old Terry Deangelo Johnson of Charlotte and charged him with first-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives continue to gather details surrounding the case.
