Sandra Warren Montgomery dies in fatal Covington County car crash

Fatal Covington County car crash death of Sandra Warren Montgomery – Obituary

Sandra Warren Montgomery, 53, of Mobile, Alabama, was tragically killed in a multi-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 49 just north of Collins, Mississippi, this past Sunday.

According to Covington County Coroner Christopher DaQuila, Montgomery was driving her Toyota Camry northbound and was stopped at a red light at the entrance to the Ora community when the crash occurred shortly after noon. Her car was struck from behind, forced underneath an 18-wheeler, and then pushed into a van that was waiting at the intersection.

Montgomery was pronounced dead at the scene. The van’s driver sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and was transported to Covington County Hospital for treatment.

DaQuila confirmed that the operator of the 18-wheeler was taken into custody by officers from the Collins Police Department.
