Fatal McAllen motorcycle crash death of Sergio Cuellar Torres – Obituary

Sergio Cuellar Torres, 31, lost his life in a motorcycle accident Thursday evening near McAllen, Texas, after colliding with a Toyota Rav 4.

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that the crash occurred around 7:50 p.m. on FM 2220, just north of Nopal Street. Torres was heading north on a Suzuki motorcycle when he entered a curve in the road. At the same time, a Toyota Rav 4, driven by a man, was traveling south in the opposite direction.

Authorities stated that Torres failed to stay within his lane and crossed into the oncoming path of the SUV, resulting in a collision. Sgt. Maria Hernandez confirmed that Torres was not wearing a helmet or any protective equipment when the incident took place.

Torres was rushed to DHR Health following the crash but died from his injuries. The driver of the Toyota declined medical attention. The incident is still under investigation by DPS.
