Fatal Canton shooting death of Stephon Dunn – Obituary

Authorities in Canton are investigating the death of 21-year-old Stephon Dunn, who was shot Thursday night in the 1500 block of Clarendon Avenue SW.

According to Canton Police, officers responded to several 911 calls about a shooting around 8:45 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Dunn lying in the yard with a gunshot wound to his back. Emergency responders performed CPR before Dunn was transported by the fire department to Aultman Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

 

Police have identified the suspect as 18-year-old Malachi Lee-Shawn Fortner of Canton and have issued a warrant for his arrest. The case remains under active investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Canton Police Communications Center or Detective Bureau.
