Fatal Charleston County drowning death of Yoselin Lopez-Perez – Obituary

Authorities in Charleston County have identified Yoselin Lopez-Perez, 18, as one of two individuals who died after being rescued from the waters at Breach Inlet earlier this week.

Emergency responders were dispatched on Tuesday afternoon following reports of a man and woman struggling in the water. Both individuals were pulled ashore unconscious and transported to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.

Lopez-Perez succumbed to her injuries later that night at the Medical University of South Carolina. The male victim, identified as 28-year-old Guillermo Quintero-Camacho, passed away the following morning, according to the coroner’s office.

The Isle of Palms Police Department has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
