Fatal Houston County car crash deaths of David Waller, Diane Waller, and Carrie Stone – Obituary

Three members of a Florida family—David Waller and Diane Waller of Istachatta, along with their daughter Carrie Stone of Inverness—tragically lost their lives Saturday in a collision involving an 18-wheeler in Houston County, Alabama. The crash took place near Gordon, close to the Alabama-Georgia state line, at around 12:15 p.m.

According to County Coroner Robert Byrd, the family was traveling in an SUV on County Road 95 when they crossed both westbound lanes of U.S. Highway 84. As they attempted to continue through the median, an eastbound semi-truck struck their vehicle on the passenger side.

All three family members were killed instantly upon impact. Byrd described the accident as especially heartbreaking, noting that Carrie Stone leaves behind children. The tragic incident remains under investigation by local authorities.
